Surprises from four centuries (a world premiere by Mozart?)

Orlando Festival at its most generous! You will hear 18 musicians, on 15 different instruments. Two sextets, by central composer Hans Kox and Mozart, whose Prague symphony was especially arranged for Orlando, a real premiere! Rarely one hears the Liszt Elegy in this curious combination of instruments. Oliver Knussen was a welcome guest in our country, as a conductor and composer. Katherine Dowling knew him well; she is an ardent advocate of his beautiful expressive music.
